Entry Requirements

We firmly believe that the first step in academic success lies with matching the right courses to individual needs, abilities and aptitudes. Therefore, at Brighouse Sixth Form College we offer a comprehensive and wide range of courses and remain sixth form college that is able to deliver both traditional A levels and vocational subjects.

3 A level subjects:  Five or more GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications at grade 5-9, including GCSE English Language and Mathematics.  Many A level courses also have specific additional requirements.

A combination of A level and Level 3 vocational subjects: Five or more GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications at grade 5-9, including GCSE English Language and Mathematics.  We can, on occasion, accept a grade 4 in Mathematics (subject dependent).

3 vocational subjects: Five or more GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications at grade 4-9, including GCSE English Language. Students who do not achieve a grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics will re-sit the qualification.

Level 2 provision/The Bridging Course:  Students who do not attain the minimum entry requirements for 3 vocational subjects will follow a one-year programme of further GCSE or equivalent subjects, including GCSE English Language and Mathematics.
