To provide our students with a well-rounded and stimulating learning experience, there is a wealth of diverse and engaging enrichment and extended learning opportunities on offer for students before, during and after school. From academic enrichment and extended learning activities, to sporting, music and the arts, our enrichment activities promote fun, teamwork, resilience and a commitment to learning and self-improvement. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in a range of educational visits and events including opportunities to visit museums, exhibitions, the theatre, as well as longer residential trips both within the UK and broad. We use a variety of external agencies to support these activities and aim to support students gaining accreditation, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
We have also have “Super Learning Days”, which involves the suspension of the normal school timetable to enable extended curriculum activities and visits to take place for all students without disrupting the learning of others. We have established links and partnerships with a range of organisations who offer a wide-variety of programmes during these days.
To support students at key points in Year 10, Year 11 and Sixth Form, we run a series of study support lessons for a range of subjects, with targeted intervention strategies. This programme includes Easter and Spring Bank Revision School.
