Welcome from the Headteacher
I would like to extend a warm welcome to the next Year 7 pupils and parents due to join our community at Brighouse High School. Transition from primary into secondary school marks the beginning of an exciting journey and I am delighted that you have chosen to take that journey with us. For the next five years, perhaps seven if you choose our Sixth Form College, we will work with you to ensure that even though we are all individuals we enjoy success together.
I am sure you know, through researching our school and the Open Evening materials that we are about so much more than just qualifications, important as they are. From the moment our new Year 7 students set foot across the threshold, they will be challenged to push themselves within a warm, caring and supportive environment. We aim to take small steps every day to becoming better at what we do well and work hard to improve those areas in which we feel the need to develop further. At Brighouse High School we are committed to ensuring that the opportunities within and beyond the traditional curriculum are rich and diverse. We will continue to encourage all of our students to become part of our community, to strive for kindness, respect and success, and build on the sense of togetherness which is so important to us and recognised by those who visit us.
We will continue to work hard to make sure that the step up to high school is as smooth as possible and I am pleased to introduce the transition section of our website.
We continue to work closely with our Primary School partners to ensure that we have all the necessary information to plan for our new cohort of children in September.
Our successes are built on a strong partnership between our students, staff and the community and this is the cornerstone on which our future successes will continue to be built.
We look forward to meeting you all soon.
