At Brighouse High School our aim is to create a culture where attendance and punctuality matters so our students can access our curriculum and fulfil their potential. We are committed to meeting our obligations with regards to school attendance by promoting good attendance and reducing absences. We will support parents/carers to enable our students to have access to the full-time education to which they are entitled and avoid any unnecessary absences.
Students with no absences are twice as likely to achieve 5 or more GCSEs at Grade 5+ including English and Mathematics, than those with an attendance of 90% or below. Students who are 15 minutes late to school each day will have missed 2 weeks of school in a one year period.
