We firmly believe that the first step in academic success lies with matching the right courses to individual needs, abilities and aptitudes. We have three routes (shown below) and throughout the application process we will guide and support in selecting the right pathway.
Academic Route: 3 A Levels
Vocational Route: 3 Vocational Subjects
Mixed Route A combination of A Level and Vocational Subjects
As part of C6, we work in partnership with other local sixth forms to safeguard the breadth and depth of the curriculum offer at Key Stage 5 by closing working with neighbouring schools. Brighouse Sixth Form College is the ‘host’ sixth form for two subjects and students can access one of the C6 subjects at one of our partner providers.
There are also opportunities for enrichment lessons as part of the Key Stage 5 curriculum; students can apply to carry out an Extended Project (EPQ), or they might choose to get involved in the CREST Award, or indeed the Progression Module. Work experience is usually part of the curriculum for all students in Year 12, with students completing a one week placement in the summer term of Year 12.
For students that have not yet achieved the entry requirements for Level 3 study, we offer a one year Bridging Course, so that students can gain sufficient Level 2 qualifications to progress to further study. From September 2023, we intend to offer T-Levels and the T-Level Transition Programme on offer at Post 16.

Our curriculum is under constant review as new courses come onto the market as others are withdrawn. We continuously assess the needs of our students in order to match their needs with the best courses available at that time.
