KS4 Curriculum

At Brighouse High School, our students are offered a broad range of courses ranging from traditional GCSE subjects to vocational qualifications.

Alongside a strong core of English Language and English Literature, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies, IT, Physical Education, PHSCE and Geography or History, students can then choose two further options they are passionate about and which will lead to either GCSE or Vocational Level 2 qualifications. Instead of studying for a Vocational IT qualification, some students will opt to take GCSE Computer Science alongside a language and triple science as part of our STEM package. Please see the KS4 page for a description of the full range of subjects offered.

As part of our Guided Choices process, we provide lots of guidance and support for our students, so that we offer a curriculum that is ambitious, including our EBacc and STEM packages.

Our curriculum is under constant review as new courses come onto the market as others are withdrawn. We continuously assess the needs of our students in order to match their needs with the best courses available at that time.
