C+K Careers 
C+K Careers offer high quality, impartial careers information, advice and guidance services that enable young people and adult to maximise their career journey. They have a team of over 60 specialist career advisors who develop relationships with young people, build a rapport and provide support at all stages of their career journey.
The support provided by C+K Careers benefits our pupils but also adds value to our whole school, providing wider support around employability and personal life skill development.
C+K Careers at Brighouse High School
Lindsy Walker, our Careers Adviser from C+K Careers, provides information and high quality, impartial advice and guidance to students when they are making important decisions about their future. Lindsy can offer support to students about careers, study options, apprenticeships and employment, work experience and volunteering. She can help with CV-building, applications and interview skills. She can support High School and Sixth Form students with their choices and decision-making through one-to-one support, whether that be face-to-face or virtually. Lindsy is also able to support parents and carers of students in order to guide them in making well-informed decisions.
Lindsy works in school every Monday, Thursday and alternate Fridays. She works at the Sixth Form College every Wednesday. Appointments for students in KS3 and KS4 are arranged via the pastoral team of each year group. Chat Service
Careers support from C+K Careers is also available through the Chat Service. It offers support, advice and guidance for young people, parents and carers living in Calderdale and Kirklees. Through C+K Careers all our students have access to MyDirections – a careers platform where students can find information to help them make informed decisions about their future. There is information about a range of career-related topics including information about qualifications, apprenticeships, university, local vacancies and labour market information. Students can also use MyDirections to create their own CV, using the CV builder tool.

The Quality in Careers Standard accredits outstanding careers education, information, advice and guidance. Statutory guidance from July 2021 strongly recommends all schools work towards the Quality in Careers Standard to support the development of their careers programme. We were delighted to achieve the Quality in Careers Standard on 19th May 2021, demonstrating our commitment to providing a high standard of careers education, information, advice and guidance to all of our students.
