Religious Studies
Welcome to Religious Studies

What do people believe?
Where did the universe come from?
Is there a God?
What effects do class A drugs have?
Is there a divide between the rich and poor?
Should we reintroduce the death penalty in the UK?
These are a few of the diverse questions we tackle in Religious Studies.
Our aim is to provide a varied and useful ‘spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and philosophical education’. Our aim is not to create religious believers, but to educate young people about the multi-faith culture we live in and the issues they may face in the 21 st Century.

Faith Conference
We believe that experience is as valuable as knowledge in developing open minded, thoughtful and respectful individuals. We run extra curricular programmes to allow such experiences. These include a Year 7 festive trip to York Minster and a 6 th Form World Faith Conference which debates a theme from a wide variety of religious beliefs.
